Uproar Records seeking fresh artists for the new school year
Baylor’s record label is holding auditions to sign new talent to develop and promote for the upcoming school year.
Waco, Texas, August 22, 2013 – Uproar Records is holding auditions to find new talent for their 2013-2014 school year. The student-run record label wants to sign two new artists and re-sign one artist from the previous year in order to further develop and promote their artist brand and music.
This roster is smaller than those that Uproar has signed in the past. “We want to reduce the number of artists on our roster from four to three in order to allocate more of our resources to each artist to ensure that they receive a well-rounded experience with Uproar,” explains Jodie Orr, the president of the label. With this strategy, the label will be able to focus their talent and resources to provide top-quality work for their artists. In return, the artists do the same.
Uproar Records serves as a “launch pad” for student-artists wishing to further their music careers. “We provide artist development, promotion, management, the recording, production, and distribution of music, booking, and brand development for the artists that we select,” says Vice President of Artist and Repertoire, Michael Morrison. Uproar gives the artists everything they need to continue to grow as artists after their time with the label.
Uproar will hold an interest meeting at 6:00 p.m. on August 28, 2013 in Cashion 105 for those wishing to learn more about the label and auditioning. Auditions will be held in the Bill Daniel Student Union Building starting September 12, 2013.
